Homes For Sale on Kensington Avenue
- Richmond's Fan District -
Kensington Avenue is probably best known for its stretches in the Museum District and West End rather than within the Fan. Kensington begins well west in the Upper Fan at its intersection with Stafford and runs only 4 blocks before entering the Museum District.
The proximity that Kensington offers to the museums of the Boulevard and to the many restaurants along Robinson Street makes it one of the most walkable streets within the Fan District. The fact that the street dead ends within 4 blocks of the Boulevard also means a very peaceful environment, especially when compared to many of the 'thru streets' in the District.
The architecture of Kensington is more akin to Museum District architecture as it is smaller and less ornate than the Lower Fan homes. The smaller nature of the homes and the proximity to entertainment make the homes along Kensington relatively affordable and popular as a first purchase for those who wish to live in the Fan but are governed by a more modest budget.
